Counseling services are provided pursuant to written Insurance Counselor Agreements and are intended to assist clients in understanding policy language, benefits promised, coverage afforded, and other policy-related matters within the scope of the counselor relationship.

Through written Insurance Counselor Agreements, our Michigan Resident Insurance Counselors provide independent advice, consultation, and professional opinions regarding insurance policy language, benefits promised, coverage afforded, and the terms, advantages, and limitations of residential and commercial property insurance policies.
Maintained as a distinct professional service separate from Away Home’s other service offerings, insurance counseling is intended to educate and advise clients regarding their insurance policies and is not intended to replace the separate role of representing a policyholder in the adjustment or settlement of an insurance claim.

Appraisal & Umpire Services
Appraisal is a contractual dispute resolution process that may be available under applicable property insurance policies to resolve disagreements regarding the amount of loss. Away Home representatives have been selected to serve as both party-appointed appraisers and neutral umpires in Michigan property insurance matters.
